Amsterdam
A tourist boat on the OZ Voorburgwal, a street and canal in central Amsterdam .
The district is rich in contrasts.
On one hand, it's one of the most famous streets of the red light district, full of sex shops, window prostitutes, peep shows , brothels , bars and coffee shops.
On the other hand it's also full of grand canal houses from the Golden Age of Holland, roughly between 1580 and 1670, when the buoyant economy began to experience a down-turn.
There are also remains of monasteries from the Middle Ages (5th to the 15th centuries) .
