Lakes of Killarney
The Lakes of Killarney in County Kerry have some of the most beautiful scenery on offer in Eire.
Many sites of natural beauty containing water, forest, rock and mountain views are enough on their own to delight visitors.
But the area also contains places and buildings of historic and religious interest within the surrounding Killarney National Park, which give a graphic insight into Ireland's past.
Below are five postcards purchased in 1952 during a visit to Killarney Lakes.

Blarney Stone
Eight kilometres (5 miles) northwest of the city of Cork lies Blarney Castle and its famous Blarney Stone.
The present castle dates from 1446, although there had been earlier ones on the site.
The Blarney Stone is a block of bluestone built into the battlements of the castle
According to legend, anyone kissing the stone gains the "gift of the gab".
Kissers have to lie on their backs and kiss the the underside of the stone.
The parapet is now fitted with wrought-iron guide rails and protective crossbars, and although a safe experience, it can cause concern for people who have a fear of heights..
Before the safeguards were installed, the kiss was performed with real risk to life and limb, as participants were grasped by the ankles and dangled bodily from the castle heights.
